Patina Steak and Fine Wine.

 

Listed among the hottest new restaurants in Cape Town for 2018 by The Inside Guide, Patina is ‘not your average steakhouse’. The high-end restaurant, serving only aged Chalmar beef in its meat dishes, as well as sustainable seafood and free-range chicken alternatives, already has a reputation for fillet on the bone and wing rib.

Chef Sarah, one of a few women to hold the position of head chef in a steakhouse, works her magic on the starter carpaccio with pickled shallots, mustard seeds, radish, smoked salt and olive oil. The roasted marrow bones (with onion rings, sourdough wafers, beetroot aïoli and pickled mushrooms) are also highly recommended.

Patina is a classy destination, tastefully decorated with American walnut tables and chairs positioned on wooden floors that invites relaxation. It’s ideal for business lunches as well as indulgent dinners. It has an extensive wine list and several patrons keep their own labelled whiskies in the whisky cabinet to serve the guests they entertain.
